History of Calligraphy

The word calligraphy comes from the Greek words 'killi' and 'graphos' which translates directly to mean, "beautiful writing."

Throughout centuries and cultures calligraphy has been used to preserve many different types of documents, from things like poetry, to the scriptures, to wise sayings.  Over the years it has developed from simple cave paintings, to the modern day art form that we know today.
